Privacy

Short version: the site has no accounts and no advertising. It uses Google Analytics to count visits, and the game keeps its saved state in your browser.

What is stored, and where

The game keeps three small records in your browser's local storage so that it can pick up where you stopped:

• mahjongbay.game.v2.<layout>: the board in progress on each layout (tile order, the pairs you have removed, elapsed time).
• mahjongbay.prefs.v1: your chosen layout and the two switches under the board.
• mahjongbay.stats.v1: how many boards you have cleared, your best time for each layout, and the days on which you cleared the daily board.
• mahjongbay.connect.* and mahjongbay.cube.*: the same three things for Mahjong Connect and 3D Mahjong.

These records stay on your device. They are never sent to the server, and clearing site data in your browser removes them.

Server logs

Like any web server, the one behind this site writes access logs: IP address, time, the page requested and the browser's user-agent string. They are used to keep the site running and to block abuse, and they are not combined with anything else.

Visitor statistics

Since September 30, 2026 the pages load Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-FHG9NC6NJ5). It records page views, the rough location derived from your IP address, your browser and screen size, and how long you stay. Google's own description of what the service collects is in the Google privacy policy. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell returning visitors from new ones; blocking them in your browser or with a content blocker does not affect the game.

If this changes

Should advertising or any other third-party service be added, this page will say which one and what it collects before the change goes live. Last updated: September 30, 2026.
