A pumpkin with a stem, 92 tiles round and four layers tall, on a purple table for the dark evenings of late October. The eight bonus tiles have gone seasonal: the four flowers are a pumpkin, a ghost, a bat and a moon, and the four seasons are a witch hat, candy corn, a spider and a cauldron. They pair the way flowers and seasons always do, any with any inside their group of four.
The rest of the set is the ordinary one. I did not want a Halloween board where you have to learn new faces before you can play; the point is a familiar game in a costume. The suits, winds and dragons are exactly what they are on the main board.
The pumpkin plays like a rounder Pyramid. Its rim is generous, 27 tiles can move on the first turn, but the depth is all in the middle, and the two tiles on the very top cover four each. Take the stem first; it is a single free tile with nothing above it and it is easy to forget on the edge of the board.
The board is here all year. It just makes more sense in October.
